Tesselaar KaBloom – Postcard

To Yarra Valley traveller,

I want to tell you about a new festival from the Tesselaar group.  KaBloom – Festival of Flowers! The fields made famous by the Tesselaar Tulip Festival are now dressed in blooms of all shapes and sizes.  Who can go past the joy of standing face to face with the sunflower, or walking among the cosmos, marigolds, snapdragons and zinnia?

Arrive early and take your time so you can soak in the beauty. If you find hills hard to navigate, for $5 you can witness the colour from a tractor tour.  Before you head up to the stage area for some entertainment, stop off at the lolly shop for some old-fashioned favourites. If you have forgotten to pack a picnic, there’s a choice of food trucks to satisfy your hunger.

Yarra Valley Life recommends:  A coffee from Silva Coffee enjoyed with a fresh scone from Anja’s Scones (baked fresh on-site).

As with the Tulip Festival, the Fairy Garden is a hit with the children.  Somewhere between the sleeping dragon, rainbow and tree-top gnome dwellings you will find a fairy reading stories to the children.  With eyes wide in wonder, the little ones will forget the world around them and follow the story-teller into a world that can only be imagined.

This new festival runs for two weeks and finishes up on the 15th of April with Tesselaar’s annual Garden and Plants Expo.  So click here for more program details and head on down to the Tulip Farm for an entertaining day out for the entire family.

Until next I write: shop local and take time to appreciate the beauty around you,

Tennille (yarravalleylife)
