Billy Goat Hill Brasserie – Postcard

Dear Yarra Valley Traveller,

A couple of months back I found myself at Billy Goat Hill Brasserie and thought you might like to know that there is a corner café in the sleepy town of Mount Evelyn buzzing with locals. With accents of the area’s history adorning the walls and local produce on the shelves, this place  embraces its Yarra Ranges post code with pride.

In a world focussed on health and wellbeing, a café serving traditional favourites can be hard to come by. You will be happy to note that when the good old munchies hit, Billy Goat Hill often has a display case full of house-baked yummies.  So pop in, order eggs to your liking and finish with a coffee and cake to ensure your sugar levels are prepped ready to face the day ahead.

Tell Laura that I say hi and to have my long black ready!  With a memory for details the crew will gladly make your brew just the way you like it (even if it is soy, almond or skinny).

RECCOMMENDATIONS:

The menu changes seasonally and you will find that the dishes reflect this. No matter what season there is always a delicious salad on the lunch menu.  I was treated to the Thai Beef Salad – so good! It is up there with their Cauliflower and Prosciutto Salad from past winter menus.

Until next I write:, shop local and take time to appreciate the beauty around you,
